What Does “Availability” Control in Sync?
Availability determines when meetings can be booked on calendars within Sync. These settings control the time windows that Sync will consider “open” for scheduling.
There are two types of availability:
Global Availability – applies to all calendars
Calendar-Specific Availability – applies to one individual calendar only
Understanding the difference helps prevent unintended scheduling issues.
How Do I Update Availability for All Calendars?
To update availability across every calendar in Sync:
Navigate to Calendars in the main menu
Select Availability
This section controls global availability for all calendars
Update the days and times you want meetings to be available
You can set:
A full weekly schedule
Consistent hours for every weekday
Save your changes
Important:
Any updates made here will apply to every calendar in Sync unless a calendar has its own specific availability rules set.
How Do I Set Availability for One Specific Calendar Only?
If a single calendar needs different availability than the global settings:
Go to Calendars
Select the specific calendar you want to edit
Open the Calendar Settings
Choose Availability
Click on your name
A panel will appear on the right side of the screen
Choose 'Customize schedule for this calendar only'
Edit the time blocks shown
Save your changes
Important:
This availability will apply only to that calendar, overriding the global availability where applicable.
What Happens If Global and Calendar-Specific Availability Conflict?
Calendar-specific availability takes priority
Global availability acts as the default
Individual calendar settings can narrow or adjust availability further
This allows flexibility while still maintaining consistent scheduling rules.
