How to Duplicate a Calendar in AE Sync
Duplicating a calendar in AE Sync lets you make a copy of an existing calendar — including its settings, availability, notifications, forms, and location options — so you don’t have to build a new one from scratch.
This is especially useful when you need multiple calendars with similar setups (e.g., same service type but with different availability or staff).
Why Use Calendar Duplication?
Save time when creating multiple similar calendars
Maintain consistent settings and layout
Reduce manual setup errors
Quickly test changes without affecting the original calendar
Step-by-Step: Duplicate a Calendar
1) Go to Your Calendar List
Log into AE Sync.
From the main menu, choose Calendar Settings.
You’ll see a list of all calendars in your account.
2) Find the Calendar You Want to Copy
Scroll through your list (or use search) to locate the calendar you want to duplicate.
3) Open the Actions Menu
On the right-hand side of the calendar entry, click the ••• (three dots) menu.
Select Duplicate.
This will start the duplication process.
4) Confirm the Duplication
A prompt will appear asking you to confirm that you want to duplicate the calendar.
Click Confirm (or Yes) to proceed.
AE Sync will create an exact copy of the calendar with all settings and configurations preserved.
5) Edit the New Calendar
Once duplicated:
The new calendar opens in edit mode.
Update important fields such as:
Calendar Name
Custom URL
Service Name (if applicable)
Any team members or availability changes
Click Save when finished.
Your new calendar is now active and ready to use.
Notes About Duplicated Calendars
The duplicate will have all settings copied from the original (forms, notifications, availability, location options, reminders, etc.).
Calendar URLs must be unique — you’ll need to update the custom URL so it doesn’t conflict with the original.
Duplicated calendars do not affect the original’s appointments or data — they are a separate instance.
Best Practices
✔ Rename the duplicated calendar with a clear, descriptive title.
✔ Update staff assignments if the new calendar should use different team members.
✔ Adjust availability settings before sharing the booking link.
✔ Review notification templates to make sure they reflect the purpose of the new calendar.
